Best Time of Year to Buy Laptop

by d125 / July 6, 2004 8:40 AM PDT

Is there a better time of year to purchase laptops/computers? I'm looking to buy a laptop for myself and one for my son, probably Dell, but I'm wondering if there is a certain time of year that you can get the best deals or which months to avoid because they may jack up the prices, such as right before school starts? Thanks.

Search the Net. Deals are out there. Try I've spent too much money there, the deals are great.

I watch for "sales" and discounts all the time and everywhere. I've found no special time of the year that's better than any other and indeed, each type of product may be available at different times, whether it be full computers, or hardware for the computer, or software. This last weekend, after watching the local newspaper "ads" for quite a while, I found some free software for Greeting Cards and some more for Ornithology work that I do. About a month ago, I was able to get a free internal dial-up modem for my daughters computer. After rebates and discounts I won't have to pay anything but the tax.

Don't get in a big hurry, but check anywhere you can.

Hope this helps.
