which of the following cameras do you think are the best overall performers,picture quality(most important),video capability,speed ,for sport,fast action shots,pentax k30,sony alpha slt A65,canon t4i or nikon 5100

I'm sure you've heard or read this before.

The camera does not make the shot. My best shot was from an early gen 640x480 digital camera. It was, for me one of my best shots ever.

Along with those cameras, loads of options for lens and more. So let's how this turns out.

I think of the four, the Pentax has the objective edge, with best combination of sensor, speed, and build quality. But they're all so close that you should choose based on ergonomics, availability, and your possible lens and other system wants/needs.

the pentax k30 sensor is bigger than the canon t4i,that means better picture quality?is better build quality than the t4i because of the weather resistant?

K-30 vs. T4i

The Pentax sensor is better because it's newer. The T4i uses an older generation sensor; the same one Canon has been using since the T2i.

Not only does the K-30 have a weather sealed body, it has a pentaprism viewfinder, which is bigger and brighter than the T4i's pentamirror vieewfinder.

In the Canon's favor, it has a much broader system behind it, and is better at HD video, with its articulated LCD, microphone jack, and available STM lens.
