Why not a Chromebook since it can do most things we need today?

This will let you reduce your workload on virus and other hunting.

I am looking for laptops or notebooks with decent speed so that they can play games on them... My son likes all sorts of games that require some speed and my daughter likes minecraft, roblox..etc.. Looking for the most I can get for $500... Thanks again!

This popped up in the CNET Security and Spyware forum so for now I'd forbid that site and app.

As to the Minecraft I'd look for the AMD A8 and A10 laptops as to get decent performance with Intel is going to be more to the 1K mark such as the Lenovo y500 models.

The Asus k55n ds81 is about the 399 mark and has the a8. This came with a 2 year drop and spill warranty which may be required.

For the a10 the office picked up a refurb for 350 at (these come and go so keep shopping.) writes:

Don't be put off by the review. In this price range, you don't get a lot of ports and the CPU isn't the factor for those games.
