Best free spyware remover

by MousePotato / May 6, 2005 12:52 AM PDT

As of today, what free spyware detector/remover utility is now ranked as best? The last time I checked, the MS AntiSpyware-beta was at the top of the charts.

In reply to: Cnet Spyware Center.

I was only wondering if the recent reviews that rated the MS Antispyware beta at the best free remover were still in effect. IOW, I would like to know if any other free removers have taken its place at the top of the chart.

The MS utility is now in my laptop's WinXP Pro tray. But I don't know if it is currently my best pick, because it's been over 10 days since it last reported/removed anything during one of its scheduled daily checkups.

The topic was "best."

And "best" doesn't do you any good if it missed one item. As such both Antivirus and Spyware are accomplished with a Suite or even a second opinion.

For example, you may think your antivirus is best, but are you getting a second opinion scan with HOUSECALL? You may be surprised when it finds something that your "best" didn't cover.

Hello ,
For me the Advanced System Protector is the Best Antispyware,it not only blocks the spyware b4 it can enter your system, will also clean the infections if any and it gives routine updates of the latest definitions and is very easy to use..
The On Execution Scanner & Alert Shields make it more efficient in the case of internet access.

free version of ASP is also available at cnet

Light bulbs you shouldn't buy

There are plenty of dimmable LED light bulbs, but make sure you don't buy the ones that flicker when you dial them down.
