I say required in subject line because I am a Fed Govt employee who is now granted remote access to Telework from home. Access to this will be thru Citrix / VPN portal which will "ping" my system to ensure there is an AV program running BEFORE I can be granted access into this portal. Before anyone says I don't need this, or that the OS already has a security feature for AV, this is not sufficient per Govt standards, so I MUST have something.
Just brought home a new 27" iMac with Mountain Lion and want to use this, and my older Macbook Pro, to work at home on. Tossed a Kapersky disc upon purchase which from what I hear off the Apple Community forum and the helpful folks there, is a total POS. From what I have been told ClamXav is the best choice to roll with and is rated high everywhere too.
Anyone care to comment on ClamXav (good or bad) and any other experiences? Any Fed Govt employees currently teleworking on their Mac would be great too!
Thanks and Semper Fidelis!
