BD670 Setup Questions

by Josh K / August 9, 2011 3:35 AM PDT

Just got my BD670 blu-ray player yesterday. I have a couple of questions about the bundled software:

1. When I select "Photo" I can see the shared folders containing my image files on my computer (an iMac running Snow Leopard), but all of the images just display as question mark icons. The images are all .jpg. Is there something I need to do on either the player or the computer to be able to see photos? I haven't tried videos yet. I'm connected wirelessly if that matters.

2. When I click on YouTube, some really annoying video appears by default. Is there a way to either change that video or just not have it autoplay anything?

The work-round I have found to question 2 is a bit counter-intuitive. If you press down (to show) rather than up (to search) the annoying video will start to play. You can then hit stop to freeze it, after about a second, and use the up key to get into search.

That's pretty much what I've been doing

I guess there isn't a better solution.
