...and sure enough avgmfapx started running at 50-85% of CPU!
Also, the 65 MB file took about 15 min. to download (guru.avg), which translates into a 0.5 Mbps speed! All the while my computer was of course not usable.
The way I see it AVG, if you're gonna have a slow server like that, then at least make sure the update executable doesn't take over the system!
Just now my computer became almost unresponsive, saw that avgmfapx.exe was running and consuming 60-80% of CPU.
Can someone tell me what that process does. Updates program, virus definitions or both?
It's in my program files in the AVG2013 folder with a 6.9 MB size. I'm running 2013.0.2890 free version.
Also, given the multitude of questions about AVG executables in this forum, a LIST of all known AVG files would be very helpful!
