Audio output on a samsung LED 7 series

by siron38 / July 30, 2010 2:41 AM PDT

I am trying to connect my TV to a sonos box which is basically allowing the sound from my TV to run through my ceiling speakers etc. Reading the manual i simply connect a twin audio into the provided jack which plugs into the AV(VIDEO)/(L-AUDIO-R)socket on the back of the TV and then switch on the external speakers from the remote. I am not getting any sound from the external speakers - can anybody advise me on what i may be doing wrong!!!!!!

Many Thanks

siron38,

Are you connecting the TV to an amplifier, or just the ceiling speakers?

Thanks for replying :

Connecting to an amplifier, i have just tried it on a Sony TV and it works but not through the samsung TV. Do i need to get a different cable to connect to the audio input of TV as in phono to female twin audio which would connect to my male twin audio lead or is the cable they provide correct!?!. Other TV's just have the "white and red" audio input!.

You didn't state which model you have, but many LEDs don't have a full range of normal-size connectors, no doubt due to space limitations. Are you sure the set had RCA audio out? The jacks could be part of an input source, such as component or DVI.

If there's no electrical output, you'll need an optical cable.

Hi- TV is a samsung 32" LED Series 7. I think that must be the case - the only audio out is the optical audio out which means i will need a 10mtr Toslink cable.

Thanks,

siron38,

Is it the UN32C7000 or the UN32B7000?

Either one would support an optical out, but if you're looking for RCA outputs, I can confirm once you let me know.

I found a tosslink optic to audio analogue Converter which I have attached the RCA cable to. I can now hear the TV through the speakers

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your response. However, I'm using the optical cable which is linked to the Bose 321 and Samsung TV. Still no luck.
I'd like to try "tosslink optic to audio analogue Converter ", let see if I get lucky with that.
