But in XP that XP DMA BUG can cause that. But I see this is Widows 7 so I can't only guess this is a hardware issue as it works fine on dozens of machines running Windows 7 at the office.
I have been an iTunes user for years (PC, Widows 7 operating system), and this is a problem which has only recently (within the last week) occurred. I believe it started when I updated to the latest version of iTunes. The audio files still play, but there is audible static -- clicks, scratches, an other distortion -- on top of it. Not constant, but enough to be noticeable. These same files still play just fine in other programs, and they played fine in iTunes until very recently.
How do I fix this? Thanks.
