It's gone forever. That's the idea of wiping clean.
Always make a note of passwords and logoncodes and keep them somewhere safe. Or backup the cookies, if you don't want to lose them when a disk breaks down or is wiped clean
But restoring cookies might be difficult, because there's a hidden index.dat file also. Same story for transferring them to a new computer. The good old 'write it down' is best.
I took my PC in for servicing and the technicians ended up wiping it clean and reinstalling windows.
I forgot to notedown some of the key passwords to some web sites. Now I am unable to recover them using various conventional techniques.
I would like to know if any application can recover web site passwords and cookies.
Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.
