Apple missing the boat on NFC??

by iPhoneAddictSEA / February 26, 2013 3:54 PM PST

With word now that the iPhone 6 will not be released until June of '14 and the iPhone 5 noticeably without NFC technology and with the same skeumorphic design that is really showing its age, can my beloved iPhone stay relevant with Samsung looking stronger every day???

I have to write no.

In fact I prefer a phone without NFC because of the security risk. If I can't turn that and bluetooth off, I won't buy the phone.

Are you aware of NFC hacks? There are fans of NFC but they tend to downplay or get upset when you bring up this topic.

I don't think most folks care

With the overall popularity of the 'new' iPhone at every release, regardless of what tiny changes they mostly make, seems to imply that lack of NFC doesn't mean much yet. I wouldn't get my undies in a bunch just yet anyway.
