AOL mail using Chrome Browser

by LindaLan / June 22, 2012 11:36 PM PDT

For some reason, I can no longer access my aol mail when using Chrome - I can sign-in to my Aol account, but when I click on "mail" I get an error that says "BLERK! ERROR 1 Authentication Problem. I am able to access mail with all other browsers. I have no other issues with my aol acct. I have tried all of to AOL's suggestions to no avail. This was happening with my desktop XP - I now have Windows 7 and the issue is still there.

you have two different computers and this is happening on both?

If so, it looks like a Chrome problem. Perhaps a recent Chrome update?

I have a laptop and a desktop - same error message on both...this started probably 4-5 months ago, so if it was due to a "Chrome update" I wouldn't have any idea which one it was at this point...wonder if it is possible to download an earlier version of Chrome and, if so, how to do it? TKS!

I'm not sure about downgrading

but I see from Google that this has happened before.

Have a look at!topic/chrome/F10VPqExRCI and the different attempted options there.

A couple I noticed was Chrome's Incognito mode, and flushing the browser's history, cookies and TIF files.

See if that works on just one of your systems, (as a test).

Seems simple to solve.

Try the other browsers. Today we have Firefox, Seamonkey, Opera, IE, and others.

Given the choices today, why would anyone get stuck?

Do other browsers work?

It's well known that some sites don't work with all browsers. This may upset folk that are new to this area.
