Annoying "CONTRAST" pop-up appearing on monitor

by jayeffcee / September 29, 2007 12:55 AM PDT

HELP! An annoying and persistent "contrast" signal has begun appearing unbidden in the center of my monitor display. It comes and goes at it's own discretion, and there seems to be no way to control it. I just have to wait til it goes away in order to see what I am working on. It is about 3 inches tall and 5 inches wide. If anybody knows what this is, or what I can do to get rid of this thing, please reply. It is an emachines monitor and a Windows XP OS.
