Resolved Question

AllShare Play seems to have device multiple times

by jfinn0 / January 1, 2013 6:35 AM PST

I am trying to get AllShare Play setup between my computer and my new Samsung Smart TV (Model UN40ES6100). I downloaded the Samsung AllShare Play software on to my computer and I can see all my files. However, when I go into the Smart Hub and AllShare Play icon in Videos, Photos, and Music it seems that it is showing my computer twice. One with just the computer name such as [PC]Computer Name and then another time with the e-mail address of my Samsung account such as PC_e-mail address. The one with the computer name doesn't says there is no content and then the one with the e-mail address shows all the content. How come I have two and can I get rid of the one that doesn't show me the content.

Hi jfinn0,

Sorry to hear about this issue. I'd guess that maybe there's the regular AllShare application installed on your computer, and both AllShare Play and AllShare are running.

Thanks. I at first installed All Share on my computer and then realized I wanted AllShare Play so I uninstalled AllShare and installed AllShare Play. However, based on what you are saying it sound like AllShare is still running somewhere/somehow. How can I make sure that AllShare is completely uninstalled?

Thanks!

Hi jfinn0,

I'd check to make sure it's uninstalled. Then I'd look through the process that are running currently to see if that's the case. If you find another Allshare process, find where the executable is running from and delete it manually.
