Question

Added some sites to restricted zone - didn't work

by edwardnav / December 7, 2012 11:17 PM PST

Their mainly pop-up web pages that show up in addition to the item that I clicked on. I noticed that they "do" show that little icon on the lower right that shows their on the restricted list.

Any suggestions?

In an unrelated issue, I could not log into cnet using my IE8, when I switched to Google Chrome I was able to log in. On IE8 when I click on the log in, I get one of those spinning symbols that seems to go on for ever like its searching. While I was on other sites, I waited for over an hour and never got in on IE8.

Windows XP SP3, all updates, MSE anti-virus.

Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Popups and ad's

I use a Hosts file......it does not seem to much care what browser I'm using.
Other folks use a product like 'Adblock Plus'.
It seems to be browser specific so do some reading.
