Acer Aspire laptop screen has gone white??

by asandro86 / April 1, 2013 3:20 AM PDT

Hi Guys

Hope that you are all well.

I had the misfortune of dropping my Acer Aspire 5551-A Laptop this morning and found the screen to be all white with what appeared to be an ink-type blotch on the side. I have read up on the web as to what it could be and it appears the LCD is leaing as a result of the fall.

Does this mean a new laptop screen will need fitting and can someone also let me know if i will need to replace the inverter board?

- it still works on an external monitor thankfully !!

Kind regards

It's a safe bet it will need a LCD but if the screen is white that means the backlight survived so probably no.

That one part survived so that part is still functioning. Given the reply I think you'll have to get it replaced professionally.
