A dvd stuck inside of my tv's built in dvd player!!!!!!!!!

by shiro_silver / January 4, 2007 7:10 AM PST

Hi, i have a 38" Hitachi tv which has a built in dvd player. Yesterday i was watching this dvd which kept on freezing and you had to stop the dvd every now and then and play it again to keep it running. But after stopping and re-playing the movie about 5 times the dvd wouldn't play again and was stuck inside of my tv. So i tried to hold down the stop button on my tv and tried to take out the dvd also but nothing would work. The dvd is still in the built in dvd player and it's still running but i can't take the dvd out or stop it. Like the dvd is running but the movie doesn't show up and its just a blank screen. Sorry if my post sounds a little confusing but i need urgent help with this! I can't find my tv manual but i bought the Hitachi tv in 2003. So Please Help!!!!!

Yes there is an eject on the remote but it won't work.
I already tried to unplug the tv yesterday but that didn't affect anything either...
I'm not too sure about the model becuase i lost the tv manual, and i bought the tv in 2003 and can't really remember which model it was.

DVD Stuck in Duo TV Player
by tryb4buy / June 30, 2011 11:19 AM PDT

I removed the back of the tv and accessed the dvd player. It had 4 bolts holding it place on the corners of the black square box holding all of the components together. Be careful not to pull too hard on the ribbons that are connected. Turn the player on its side and push the cd out with your finger. Easy to do. Now, I got my player to work by moving the arms attached inside and I guess one of them was off track or something. I kept pushing the cd back into the player while it was plugged in and pushing it out. I then turned the unit on its backside and while the cd was in I turned the power on, hit play and slighty pushed down on the middle component that holds the cd in place. Presto, works great. I did keep the screws out of the back of my tv in case I have to manually remove again. Hope it works for you.
