Gamers tend to be very picky and want any edge they can get so why not setup the 120Hz display and go play?
And where did you see reduced picture quality? Didn't that Cameron fellow propose we increase frame rate for a better experience at http://www.firstshowing.net/2011/cinemacon-james-cameron-demos-the-future-of-cinema-at-60-fps/
Few things about me...
- I have a GeForce GTX670
- Primarily play sport games (NBA 2K13) and rpgs (Skyrim, The Witcher 2)
- My desktop regularly reaches between 110-120 fps
I really need help on an explanation on the necessity of 120hz for the games that I play. Hopefully I explain this properly...
I am going to be purchasing a new monitor, but cannot decide between a TN or IPS panel. I have narrowed my decision down to three options:
TN: Asus VG248QE
IPS: Asus PA248Q or Dell Ultrasharp U2412M
Considering the games that I play: would the increase of 60hz to 120hz justify the loss in picture quality? Is the increased screen, smoothness, etc. really "worth it"? Or, should I go with the IPS, because the image quality is so much better than the TN models? Also, I do not play online and have never had interest in FPS (primarily because I am absolutely horrible at them).
I hope this is the correct forum for this - thanks for the input in advance!
