"If I wrote software like this I would be fired"
Pros: Records HD sometimes.
Cons: Customer support in non-existent, standard response is to reboot the box unless it's really bad then pull the plug. Advanced customer support is only available by e-mail with a three day turn around. Software is the worst I've ever seen a total horror sh

Pros: Most of the bugs have been worked out, and basically works
Cons: Dish has indicated they will not support mpeg 4 on this receiver, which is where HD is going. No named based recording for OTA channels. DVI and Component feeds do not output simultaneously. A lot of people went through a lot of problems with this rece

Cons: The menu system in this is awful. If you have it set to record a show and the air time changes, it automatically records whatever show is in it's place -- just like 10yo VCR technology. To delete the timer, you have to go back and figure out which time
