Apple's MacBook Air has regularly held down a spot on our list of the best laptops and the now previous-gen MacBook Air M1 is still our top pick for a laptop for basic everyday use. Though it's possible to find the base-spec MacBook Air M1 for around $800 these days, that model is equipped with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage and a slightly lesser M1 chip with a seven-core GPU.
