I Love My 16-inch MacBook Pro, and at $200 Off for Prime Day, You Will Too [Discontinued]

Apple's M2 Pro 16-inch MacBook Pro is its biggest and best laptop, and it was available with $200 off for Amazon Prime Day. It's such a good laptop I almost wished I could buy mine again!

Update: This awesome MacBook Pro deal is unfortunately no longer available, but be sure to check out our list of the best Prime Day deals that are still live for all the remaining bargains.

Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro is the biggest and best laptop in its lineup right now, and I love mine. And I think you'll love yours if you take advantage of this Amazon Prime Day deal that will get you into a gorgeous bit of kit for $200 off the normal asking price.

That's right, picking up the base model 16-inch MacBook Pro today will set you back just $2,299, which is 8% less than the original $2,500 price that Amazon has listed. And look, that's still a lot of money. I get it. And there are plenty of cheaper MacBooks to be had -- there are even some in our collection of the very best Apple Prime Day deals, too. But if raw power is what you need alongside the biggest and most gorgeous display you'll find in Apple's laptop lineup, there's just no substitute. And let's be honest: Professionals are just going to cost this thing out to their clients anyway. And they'll be glad they did, thanks to some beefy specs.

The model we have here is the M2 Pro with a 12-core CPU and 19-core GPU. That's very fast no matter your workflow, and while you can upgrade to the M2 Max, many people won't need to. It's that fast. Still, it's good to know the M2 Max is there should you need it.

Buyers will also get 16GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD thrown in, and there are of course two colors to choose from: Space Gray and Silver. Although I'd posit that Space Gray is the only option people should choose, but it's your money.

You'll of course spend most of your time looking at the MacBook Pro's display, and you're in for a treat. The 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is, quite frankly, ridiculously good. It promises Extreme Dynamic Range and over 1,000 nits of brightness for glorious HDR images. If you work in video, you're going to love this display. If you don't, you'll love it anyway.

Finally, one of the most important aspects of a portable laptop -- battery life. Now that Apple is no longer beholden to Intel's power-hungry chips, it's producing some of the best battery life around. This model can deliver up to 22 hours of battery life on a full charge. And you can expect that M2 Pro to run at full chat no matter whether it's plugged in or not -- there's no throttling on battery power here.

In case it isn't obvious yet, I really do think the 16-inch MacBook Pro is a great machine. It isn't the cheapest laptop around, but for those who need the features it has to offer, it's hard to beat. Take $200 off the asking price and it's impossible to argue against.
