People often expect to drop $1,000 or more on smartphones, and though that may be true for the best phones on the market, it's not true for every phone. If you aren't fussy about brand names, there are plenty of great phones to choose from that aren't Apple. TCL, for example, offers quality phones for a fraction of the price. Right now, you can get an unlocked TCL 20 Pro for just $300 on Amazon.

The TCL 20 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 740G 5G processor, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, making this a powerhouse. It's got laptop capabilities in the form of a mobile smartphone. You can expand storage by up to 1TB with a microSD card, something that isn't even offered with Galaxy phones or iPhones anymore.

With a crisp 6.67-inch AMOLED display, the visuals on this phone are vivid and immersive. You also get a 48-megapixel main camera plus a 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens, a 2-megapixel depth lens and a 32-megapixel front-facing lens with dedicated RGB sensors that accurately capture skin tone and natural lighting for flawless selfies.

This unlocked phone is compatible with Verizon and T-Mobile 5G service as well as and LTE on AT&T. It isn't compatible with Sprint, Spectrum or Xfinity, however.
