Not long ago, we pitted the Crock-Pot Express Multi-Cooker against the Instant Pot Lux multicooker and it fared rather well. Crock-Pot's version of the popular nine-in-one kitchen cooker has all of the basic functions of an Instant Pot -- pressure cook, saute, steamer, slow cook, warm -- but actually executed some things better. It made fluffier rice, for instance, and has an easy one-touch chili setting that the Instant Pot doesn't. Right now, you can get Crock-Pot's 8-quart Multi-Cooker on sale for just $50 (normally $130) from Best Buy -- plus free shipping or in-store pickup. Amazon has the same price on that model if you prefer buying it there.

Now dinner is taken care of, what about a hearty fall breakfast? Making waffles at home is a famously messy endeavor, but Best Buy also has a Chefman Belgian-style waffle maker with batter overflow protection down to just $20 (originally $30). This one also gets high marks in verified purchase reviews and with far fewer countertop spills, your monthly paper towel bill will thank you.
