Valence signs battery deals
Battery maker Valence Technology announced Thursday that it has agreed to work with Acer and Wistron to develop mobile products based on its Saphion battery technology. Acer is one of the world's leading PC makers, and Wistron is one of the largest parts suppliers for the PC industry. Valence's Saphion battery technology replaces cobalt with phosphate as the cathode material in lithium-ion batteries, enabling them to be more stable and less expensive than currently available batteries.
