Jack Black will be joining 'The Rock' in the 'Jumanji' remake

The 1995 movie "Jumanji" is near and dear to the hearts of many. In a move that may prove polarising, Jack Black was on Wednesday announced to be joining the cast of the 2017 remake.

The news was broken by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who was already known to be playing a major role in the film.

"IT'S OFFICIAL: An ol' friend is ready to play in the world of #JUMANJI"...JACK (mf'n) BLACK," he wrote on his notoriously awesome Instagram page.

The former pro wrestling champ predicted Black, known for his roles in "School of Rock", "Tropic Thunder" and "Kung Fu Panda", would turn in "a performance of a lifetime," with more details on his character to come.

The original "Jumanji" film, based on a 1981 book, famously starred Robin Williams, who sadly passed away in 2014.
