Zack Snyder gives us glimpse at Snyder Cut's Darkseid as HBO Max launches
The Justice League big bad is coming in 2021.
The Snyder Cut of Justice League isn't hitting HBO Max until next year, but its director celebrated the $15-a-month streaming service's launch with a look at its most exciting element: supervillain Darkseid.
"He's coming... to HBO Max," the director tweeted Wednesday.
Actor Ray Porter revealed over the weekend that he's playing the iconic villain, who was absent from the 2017 theatrical cut of Justice League. He was never set to be the movie's main baddy -- that honor went to his goon Steppenwolf -- but his role would've hinted at the true evil lurking in the background and foreshadowed a bigger role down the line.
Darkseid was created by legendary comic artist Jack Kirby in 1970, and rules over the hellish planet Apokolips. Since he won't be making his live action debut until next year, here's a clip of him getting beaten up by Superman in the Justice League Unlimited animated series.
