Buzz Out Loud 1455: Steve Jobs to you: shut up and eat your hummus (Podcast)
On today's show, the iPhone is apparently storing your location data even when you've turned off the location tracking services. And law enforcement agencies and a cottage industry of iOS forensics companies have been taking advantage of these logs for years. Nevertheless, Steve Jobs appears to insist in an email to a customer that Apple is not tracking anyone. Really. Hunch shows you why you love both hummus and Macs, even if you don't love Apple. Plus, Sony is rebuilding its PlayStation Network security after its now five-day outage, and an innocent man is accused of child pornography because it's still just too damn hard to put a password on a WiFi network. --Molly

Matt from Columbus: survey shenanigans

Hey Buzz Crew,
Molly, I was listening to your rant about how you were having to copy photos out of iPhoto to upload them to Kodak Gallery. It’s doesn’t have to be that hard!
If you scroll down the source list of the upload file dialog, you have an option to choose “”Photos”" under “”Media”" and that will actually give you a little iPhoto browser with access to all of your Events, Albums, Faces, etc. (See attached) That way you don’t have to export on your computer and make another copy.

Hey Buzz Crew
I wanted to share my Saturday night streaming fail with you. I was out at my local Best Buy Saturday looking at some movies and I came across the movie Date Night. I knew I wanted to see it but I wasn’t sure if it was good enough to buy. So I decided to stream it, I figured its a new movie it must be available somewhere.
When I got home I fired up Media Center and went to Netflix only to find out it wasn’t available for streaming. So I went to plan B and switched over to my Apple TV and searched iTunes for a rental. No luck there, it wasn’t even available to buy. As a last ditch effort I searched Hulu, again no luck, no surprise there. At this point I though I would just walk to my local Blockbuster but then I remembered that it closed 6 months ago and is now an auto parts store. By this point I was determined to see this movie. So I ended up making the 20 minute drive back to Best Buy and buying the copy that inspired this whole wild goose chase.
In summary, streaming failed, rentals failed and the movie studios won. Overall a great Saturday night.
Chip from Boston
P.S. The movie was pretty good.
