Are you ready for the 2006 FIFA World Cup?

Sure the fridge is packed with suds, the chips are matched with their corresponding dips and the couch cushions are fluffed, but aren't you forgetting something?

Well, if you're among the ranks of the "average" fans, then maybe not. But no "super" fan worth his cleats is going to want to miss out on the soccer field shaped Philips Universal Remote.

The fully functional TV and DVD/DVDR remote control is pre-programmed for Philips equipment, but is capable of controlling more than 600 brands of equipment.

The remote comes pre-packaged with a 2006 FIFA World Cup scorecard and features a soft rubber grip to protect against damage when it is thrown against the television at the losing team.

The buttons look like little soccer players and there's even a bottle opener attached at the bottom, so as long as there's a loaded cooler nearby, super fans won't even have to leave the sofa until nature calls.

Hey--Philips can't think of everything.

UPDATE: On second glance, it looks like this might only be available in Europe...we're looking into it.
