CNET News Video: Techie ways to celebrate Hanukkah

1:02 /

Update your family traditions this Hanukkah with the help of technology. And no, we're not talking about dreidel and menorah apps, but those are out there too! In this Tech Minute, CNET's Kara Tsuboi brings us some festive tech ideas for celebrating the holiday.

This Hanukkah, try out a new recipe with the $2.00 Iphone app Hanukkah Recipes HD. In one place you can find more than 100 recipes for everything from Sweet Potato Latkes, to Fruit Kugel, to my favorite Challah French Toast. Teach your children more about the stories behind Hanukkah with a $2.00 IOS app Hanukkah: The Festival of Lights StoryChimes. The app features several children's stories that adults can read out loud or, the app can do the reading for you, complete with sound effects and music. Learning about one's culture has never been so entertaining, and finally, check out the website kveller.com. It calls itself a Jewish twist on parenting and right now you can find all sorts of gift ideas for your little ones like an adorable Dreidel sweater. And since thanksgiving in Hanukkah overlap this year, it's a great resource to find chocolate turkeys, Thanksgivukkah t-shirts and even a "Menorkey". Yes, that is Menorha and turkey combined. Happy Hanukkah! In San Francisco I'm Kara Tsuboi CNET.com for CBS news.
