Beat the heat this summer with innovative tech, from a fan that plugs in to your phone to apps that help you locate the nearest water park. CNET's Kara Tsuboi reports.

[MUSIC] In the peak of summer it can be tough to find ways to cool down. If you've got your iPhone handy, then plug in a fan attachment. Available from Amazon and other online retailers for a range of prices. These fans will generate a breeze while claiming to use minimal battery power. Keep your house a comfortable temperature by using a smart thermostat like Google's Nest or the Lyric from Honeywell. Both systems get to know your routines and preferences, so your home is chilled to the perfect temperature. WIthout you putting in too much sweat to get it there. Finally the only way to stop the sweat, is to plunging into a cool pool, whip out your iPhone and load it with a three dollar theme park and water park locater app. Browse by zip code or search the interactive map to find a park with the features you're after. Leave reviews for other users and post. Photos of you and your family beating the heat. In San Francisco in [INAUDIBLE] cnet.com for CBS News.
