CNET News Video: Ghost hunting tech: The Geiger Counter

0:45 /

In her paranormal research, professional ghost hunter Gloria Young uses a $20 Geiger counter, which measures radiation. They normally click at regular intervals, but irregular clicks could be interpreted as ghosts responding to your questions. During a taped interview inside the Brookdale Lodge, the Geiger counter interrupted Young as she described a previous ghostly encounter.

-The tone you hear every once in a while, that beep is telling you that, yes, it's working and yes, we're in a very geological area you know, but on a haunted B29 and I say haunted because they already knew that it was-- see it's telling me yes. They already knew-- -What's it telling you? -It wasn't doing this before. -I know. What's it telling you? -It's acknowledging me. See before-- -What's acknowledging you? -It's-- -Who? -I don't know who. That's the problem with the paranormal. You can't just open the door and say who are you. -Right. -Because it doesn't work that way. -So I'll give you this. It is making more noises than it was before, but what can we interpret that to mean? -That they're acknowledging me.
