CNET News Video: Adidas MiCoach Fit Smart fitness tracker won't sweat it

0:53 /

Hitting online and retail stores on August 17, Adidas' $199/£199 MiCoach Fit Smart is a fitness tracker complete with a heart-rate monitor and a sweatproof design.

[MUSIC] Hello, everybody. It's Lynn La for CNET, and right now we're gonna check out the miCoach Fit Smart from Adidas. Now the Fit Smart is a fitness tracker, and is a successor to the company's Smart Run device from last year. Unlike other smart watches like the Samsung Gear Live or the LG G Watch, the Adidas device can't independently run apps, nor does it get any notifications. Instead, it connects with a proprietary app called miCoach Train and Run, which you can download to Android or iOS. It's equipped with a heart rate monitor on the back, and an accelerometer. During your workout, it can measure your distance, speed, and pace. And it also displays different lights to indicate your workout intensity, and guide you along your training. The fitness tracker will be available in both black and white, and will launch August 17th for $199. Again, I'm Lyn and you've been checking out the miCoach Fit Smart from Adidas. [MUSIC]
