LED technology has really been the buzz phrase of 2009. We've had digital cameras to , and now LED has made its way into a new range of Brother printers.on televisions, OLED screens popping up in everything from
So what's so special about having an LED in printers? Basically, it scans the entire page and then flashes that image onto the print drum (rather than aligning mirrors like laser printers do), which makes them faster.
Thanks to this technology it allows the HL-3040CN to be a compact colour laser printer that offers 16ppm print speeds in colour and mono. Inside it packs 32MB of memory and has a 250-page paper tray. Connectivity is taken care of thanks to Ethernet and USB.
Other models in the recently-announced LED line-up from Brother include the HL-3070CW, the MFC-9120CN and the MFC-9320CW, all sporting different specifications, with the latter two being multifunction devices.
All this technology doesn't come cheap though; the HL-3040CN is AU$479, and the top-of-the-line MF-9320CW is AU$999.
