Please, Lego, build this detailed X-Men mansion

A Lego replica of the famous X-Men mansion has received the 10,000 fan votes required to get it to the next stage on the way to reality. Here's hoping our favorite mutants will get their school in Lego form.

Welcome to the Xavier Institute for Higher brick form. Fans over at Lego Ideas (formerly known as Lego Cuusoo) have created the ultimate tribute to the school where even mutants can feel like they belong.

This Lego four-story X-Men X-Mansion set includes detailed settings like the Danger Room, a medical bay with its own strapped gurney, a headmaster's office for your Professor Xavier figure to preside in, and Storm's attic garden.

While there are 45 mini figures included in the photo of the interior of the mansion, the set's creators make clear that the set won't actually include all of those. They're just proposing "a bare handful of critical figures" -- Xavier, Beast, Shadowcat, Gambit, and Mystique -- and beyond that leaving it open.

Fans can vote on the X-Mansion Campaign Page for their favorite X-Men characters they'd like to see included in this set if Lego approves it.

Lego Ideas is a fan-oriented online community website where builders share custom sets. The X-Mansion project was created by DarthKy and Glenbricker, the same duo responsible for such past Lego projects as a "The Big Bang Theory" set and a "Doctor Who" set.

"Well, you've done it again!" Lego officially commented on the project page. "Another beautiful project of yours has reached 10,000 supporters. Being a mutant, or, ahem, 'gifted,' isn't so bad when this is your school! Now children from the Lego world have a safe place to work on their special talents with other such youngsters. And with professors like Cyclops and Wolverine, there's no chance of a student falling asleep at [his or her] desk."

Lego added, "We now officially advance this project to the Review phase...This project qualifies for the Second 2014 Review, which includes projects that reach 10,000 supporters between early May and early September."

In this Review phase, the project is no longer just a lofty idea. It's scrutinized by the Lego Review Board, a group of product managers, designers, and "key team members" who decide if the model can be made to official Lego standards, evaluating it for safety, fun, and overall Lego-ness.
