Top-trending music topics on Twitter to fuel new TV show
Called "Trending 10," the program will be on the music-oriented cable TV network Fuse and is being produced in partnership with Twitter and Trident gum.
Do you like music and want to know what the hottest music-related stories are? A new TV show that features the top trending music topics on Twitter hopes to have you covered.
Known as "Trending 10," the new show is being produced for music-oriented cable TV network Fuse, in partnership with Twitter and gum company Trident.
The idea, the companies said in a release, is to build "Trending 10" around the Top 10 music-related Twitter topics of the day. Those stories will be selected based on Fuse's "heat tracker" algorithm, a system that determines which musicians are being talked about the most every day on Twitter.
"Trending 10," scheduled to air weekdays at 4:30 p.m. PT on various channels, will be accompanied on Fuse's Web site by a series of digital shorts, interviews, and articles, and access to the heat tracker. All that content will be based on real-time music discussions on Twitter.
It's not entirely clear what role Twitter is playing in this partnership, but the project is just the latest way music is being showcased on the social network. Last week, Twitter rolled out, its standalone music-discovery app.
