A new Tumblr blog replaces the ladies in famous images with pictures of Ikea furniture.
It's a response to Ikea's gaffe a few days ago — you know, when Swedish newspaper Metro discovered that Ikea had removed women from the catalogue it shipped to Saudi Arabia. And by removed, we mean photoshopped out.
Ikea has since apologised for the move, telling The Wall Street Journal that, "We encourage fair treatment and equal employment opportunities, without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age or sexual orientation".
Ikea Group's Ylva Magnusson also told the Journal, "You can not remove or retouch women out of reality". Tell that to the internet.
The Tumblr blog, "I(kea) got 99 problems but a b**** ain't one", re-imagines what history would be like if all photos had been Ikea-d. Women have been replaced in famous, iconic photographs with pictures of Ikea furniture, and nary a feminine wile in sight.
If you'd prefer to never see a lady ever again, head on over to the Tumblr to see what life would be like.
