Microsoft doesn't have a price, and there isn't a date, but rest assured that the Surface Pro is definitely heading to Australia ... sometime.
Microsoft's Surface Pro variation of its tablet range hit the US market back on 9 February, but a rather large section of the world is still waiting for its crack at "clicking in".
According to Microsoft, that wait is now definitely approaching if not an end, at least a clear middle, with the announcement that "beginning late March", Microsoft will "expand the number of markets" in which the Surface Pro will join its weedier Surface RT cousin.
Don't start counting your change out just yet; it's not only Australia in the mix. China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom are all part of the regions that will see the Surface Pro arrive "in the coming months".
On its blog the Surface team noted: "We are focused on meeting demand in current markets for Surface Pro and are working super hard to get new inventory into retail, but recognise demand exists in other countries as well."
So in short: we don't know when, we don't know how much and it won't be until the US and Canada have enough of their own, but at some point, the Surface Pro will be on shelves in Australia.
