We don't think you'll be wanting to take a nap on this Totoro's belly.

How many times after seeing the scene in My Neighbour Totoro, where Mei falls asleep on Totoro's giant, fluffy belly, have you wished that you could have a giant Totoro bed of your very own? Alas, we don't think you'd want to sleep on Andrew Golden's Totoro.

Golden — who you may remember from his series of video-game characters on Facebook — has recently uploaded a new set to his website, featuring characters from Studio Ghibli films that have been brought to life. He created them by mashing up images he found via Google image search, then applying a little Photoshop.

The results are often just a little bit creepy — Ponyo and Jiji, for example, as well as Totoro — but they all look fantastic. Our favourites would have to be the Baron from The Cat Returns, the eponymous Porco Rosso and the aforementioned Totoro, who kind of looks like something out of a nightmare.

Drop by Golden's website to check out the full series.
