How much do you love the marvelous British actor, comedian, author, and self-proclaimed gadget addict Stephen Fry? If you love him enough to carry him around with you, you'll be happy to know he finally has his own miniature gaming figure.
Preorder your very own miniature Fry as Master of Lake-town from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" for $20. The resin figure is for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" Strategy Battle Game (PDF) and comes unpainted and requires assembly. Games Workshop recommends Citadel Super Glue and Citadel Paint.
If this description doesn't convince you to shell out $20 for the figure, nothing will. "Though prone to long-winded speeches (and bouts of flatulence), the Master of Lake-town is a wise, charismatic and capable leader," Games Workshop site described. "He is, however, a better businessman than a warrior, and his lust for gold is greater than his courage or his will to fight."
But what we really want as fans is a realistic action figure of Stephen Fry in any of his earlier acting roles, such as the all-knowing valet Jeeves from the TV show "Jeeves and Wooster." Maybe the mustached General Melchett from "Blackadder Goes Forth" or the pompous, bearded Lord Melchett from "Black-Adder II" would suffice? Or even an action figure of Fry as the suave comedian who makes a mean cocktail from his skit show "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" would be plenty.
If his longtime friend and partner in comedy, actor Hugh Laurie can have his own heavily detailed "House" action figure, why can't Fry?
For now, his miniature as the Master of Lake-town will have to do.
