The makers of the Ouya game console are trying to lure buyers with a special edition that costs more but doubles the storage.

Now available for preorder, the Ouya limited edition costs $129, up from the usual price of $100. For that extra $29, the storage capacity jumps to 16GB from 8GB. The new edition also is white, whereas the standard model comes in black.

The limited edition is available only in North America. Ouya promises that buyers will receive it in time for the holidays if ordered before December 8.

The Android-based Ouya comes as a small cube that fits in the palm of your hand. Powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, the Ouya offers 1GB of memory and two USB ports. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and HDMI output are included as is a wireless game controller.

The people behind Ouya have been trying to coax more developers to create games for the console. Users can now freely test drive more than 500 different games, including such recent entries as Neon Shadow, Amazing Frog? The Hopping Dead, Fist of Awesome, and Luxuria Superbia.
