Nokia makes DNG colour profiles for Adobe Lightroom

At the end of 2013, Nokia added support for DNG capture in the Lumia 1520 and the Lumia 1020 with the Black update. DNG is an Adobe format that can be read by a wide variety of programs such as Photoshop and Lightroom. Capturing images in DNG format means that photographers can get the most information possible from the image sensor, as opposed to capturing images in a lossy format such as JPEG.

Nokia's photography team have developed a range of colour profiles for use in Adobe's editing and cataloguing software, Lightroom. Usually when you import a RAW file into an editing program such as Lightroom, you need to make a few adjustments to get the right look for your images. The DNG profiles help to get the correct colours in your images without needing to manually adjust sliders and settings.

"This started purely as a hobbyist initiative at Nokia and as a result we have now released the flash, fluorescent and daylight-halogen profiles for Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1020," said Juha Alakarhu, head of imaging technologies at Nokia in a blog post.
