EA executive Lucy Bradshaw has told TG Daily that Mac users won't be at a disadvantage over fellow Windows players. "SimCity has a long legacy on the Mac, and the team at Maxis is ensuring that it will be the deepest, richest and most accessible SimCity game yet," she said.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Origin, EA's digital distribution service, will have to be running in order to play the game. This means that an internet connection is required to log in to Origin and start the game.

For an early chance to play the game, register for the SimCity beta. Players will be chosen to give their feedback on the game before it is released next year. For now, the beta is just for PC users.
