A Windows user and photographer? You can now grab an update to Microsoft's camera codec pack that adds RAW file format support for 34 new cameras.
RAW images are proprietary files that high-end compacts, interchangeable lens cameras and SLRs produce. If you regularly update your camera equipment, or have just bought a new camera and want to view RAW files without installing the bundled software, download the new Microsoft codec packs for Windows Vista, 7, 8 or RT.
The codec pack lets tools like Windows Explorer and Photo Gallery view RAW files from a number of new (and not so new) cameras, including:
Canon: EOS M, EOS-1D X, PowerShot G1 X, PowerShot G12, PowerShot G15, PowerShot S100 and PowerShot S110
