At this year's Digital Show, CNET Australia hosted a series of panels on the changing face of photography.

This is an edited version of a panel discussing making the move from being a keen amateur photographer to full-time professional. Our panellists recounted demanding clients and artistic motivations, as well as success and failure stories about running a business.

The panellists:

  • Drew Gurian : music, portrait and editorial photographer, first assistant to Joe McNally
  • Samm Blake: wedding and portrait photographer, one of Capture magazine's top 10 wedding photographers in Australia
  • Alexander Kesselaar: photographer, web designer, recently made the shift to full-time professional.
