A silver-plated 1TB hard drive in a spherical case? LaCie shows off some high society storage at CES 2014.

Can storage devices become decorative art? LaCie seems determined to find out.

At CES 2014, LaCie has revealed four new storage devices but it's the Sphere that's wowing the crowds.

A 1TB hard drive, the USB 3.0 Sphere comes in a silver-plated spherical chassis. In fact, LaCie has teamed with Christofle, a luxury French silversmith founded in 1830.

The Sphere is expected to be available in Q1 of this year, with an estimated RRP of — gulp — US$450.
