Google Earth brings 3D imagery to iPad, iPhone

Announced on the Google Lat Long blog, the update covers a range of US cities, including Los Angeles and San Diego, as well as Rome, Italy. 3D imagery of other cities will be added progressively, and by the end of the year the app aims to have coverage for a number of other areas, covering over 300 million people in total.

The update also includes a tour-guide feature, which virtually guides you through a number of famous places across the globe. Google Earth is available as a free download from the iTunes Store.
