Garmin recalls some Nuvi units for potential fire risk
Garmin is recalling some 1.25 million Nuvi GPS units worldwide because the battery can overheat and in rare instances lead to a fire hazard. Affected units include the Nuvi 200W, 250W, 260W and 760.
Garmin is recalling some 1.25 million Nuvi GPS units worldwide because the battery can overheat and in rare instances lead to a fire hazard.
According to the company, the issue is limited to a batch of batteries from a third-party supplier and a specific Garmin printed circuit board (PCB) design. Less than 10 cases have been reported thus far, and no injuries or "significant property damage" have yet occurred.
The models covered by this recall notice are the Nuvi 200W, 250W, 760. Models sold in Australia and New Zealand are affected.and
