It seems that iView is most definitely cool now, with the ABC stating that the premiere episode "Asylum of the Daleks" had 75,900 plays in a single day, the largest number of daily views recorded for the service.

As we previously reported , the ABC will be making the new series of the popular sci-fi show available via iView, immediately after the episodes air on the BBC in the UK each Sunday at 5.10am AEST.

If the numbers of viewers stay high, this could be a wake-up call for the Australian TV industry ,which still finds itself heavily criticised for failing to offer popular overseas shows to the local audience in a timely fashion.
