Several Australian cinemas will be screening the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who in 3D on the day it launches around the globe.
The BBC still hasn't announced a time for Doctor Who 50th anniversary special "The Day of the Doctor", go to the cinema.: 24 November. The 75-minute episode will be aired by the ABC at 7.30pm AEDT, but if you live in Sydney, there's a way you can see it earlier with all your friends:
Dendy Newtown will be showing the episode at 10am AEDT. Session times for Event Cinema, Hoyts, Village and independent cinemas have yet to be announced. Starring Matt Smith, his predecessor David Tennant, new companion Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper and John Hurt as a previously unseen incarnation of the time-travelling Gallifreyan, the episode will reveal something of the Doctor's dark and dangerous past.
Some tickets are available on the Dendy website for AU$25 each, but get in quick — they're going fast. You can visit the other participating cinemas' websites in the coming days to book tickets.
While you wait, you can check out some of the ABC'sfor the anniversary. The channel will be airing weekly Doctor Who specials and classic episodes from Sunday, 20 October.
