German dad Carsten Riewe built an Aliens-style Power Loader for himself and his wee 13-month-old daughter to celebrate Karneval in style.

Turning your baby into a Xenomorph-beatin' fighting machine is the new fairy princess — at least when it comes to costumes. German dad Carsten Riewe is taking a page from the book of US dad Jason Smith, who crafted a father-daughter Caterpillar P-5000 Powered Work Loader for Halloween 2012.

Riewe's outfit was for the local Karneval in February, and he took a slightly different approach to Smith, adding in a few different elements, although the basic concept is the same. The styrofoam suit is worn by Riewe, who straps his 13-month-old daughter to his chest in a baby harness.

The arms and legs of the suit are fully moveable, and a 12V battery stored in the backpack powers the LED caution light on the top and the lighting within the roll cage. He also added a Bluetooth boombox that played the mechanical sounds of the suit's actuators (but, he noted, it can also play music).

"My 13 months old daughter enjoyed to be carried and moved in her harness safely," Riewe said, and we have to agree — that looks like a pretty cosy baby. Although we'd be interested to see what would happen if she met with this one (which isn't, unfortunately, real).
